Mandatory Units

The NVQ consists of the following 5 mandatory units:

• Manage your own resources and professional development
• Provide leadership in your area of responsibility
• Ensure the health, safety, welfare and security of customers and staff
• Work with Others to Improve Customer Service
• Contribute to change through implementing and reviewing strategy and policy
• Promote equality and diversity in sport and physical activity

Optional Units

And 4 optional units with at least one unit from Group 1:

Group 1

• Involve, motivate and retain volunteers
• Facilitate community-based sport and physical activity
• Support the development of sport and physical activity in education

Group 2

• Recruit, select and keep colleagues
• Lead and motivate volunteers
• Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists
• Allocate and monitor the progress and quality of work in your area of responsibility
• Support the efficient use of resources
• Develop productive working relationships with colleagues
• Manage a project
• Apply for external funding for sport and physical activity
• Contribute to the Prevention and Management of Abusive and Aggressive Behaviour
• Manage information for action
• Contribute to evaluating, developing and promoting services
• Work with Others to Improve Customer Service
• Provide learning opportunities for colleagues
• Plan and organise services
• Involve, motivate and retain volunteers

 

The Key Skills required for this framework are:

• Application of Number Level 2
• Communication Level 2

The Technical Certificate consists of the following elements

• Introduction to Employer Rights and Responsibilities in the Active Leisure & Learning Industry
• Employer Rights and Responsibilities in the Active Leisure & Learning Industry
• Industry and Organisational Awareness in the Active Leisure & Learning Industry
